TroutFisher wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2020 11:44 pm I made a basic statement. I did not direct it towards anyone in particular. It appears you have a bot to sort out what the bot considers Ad Hom. Seriously, the speed of response suggests an automated intervention rather than a human considered response. Paul, I am increasingly unimpressed with you. The guy (you) I met a few years ago seems to be turning into something very unattractive. So be it. It’s your bed. I’m happy to sleep elsewhere.
Your first sentence is disingenuous...and the rest of your post is ad hominem (I am not the subject of this thread). It also breaks our rule of not challenging admin decisions (except by PM). I'll let you off that, this time, though. My attention has been on this thread due to earlier instances of ad hom. Criticising me for too speedy a response is novel.

Our rules are straightforward: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=47285

Lastly, and most disappointingly, I have NEVER been attractive. Goodnight.

It's a strange old world where a genuine request to get honest feedback on power supply ends up like this 🙄

It's called debate. Its how you learn.

I'd rather make my mind up after reading this forum than a few I could mention.

We have a different view of what constitutes debating but that's not something I will lose sleep over and I don't expect you will 😑
My concern is there will be people who could add value to the debate who might just remain silent due to nature of the "debate"

The rules of the forum are straightforward, and are linked at the top of every thread:

No ad hominem (members of other forums will be afforded the same 'no ad-hominem' protection as members here)
No spamming
No shilling
No libel
No continuous repeating of the same post or the same point within a post
No challenging an admin decision apart from by PM.

All subject to admin judgement.

We encourage robust debate, within the above.

Then they really have nothing of interest to say.

The shame is that sometimes, those who do post also have nothing of interest to say.

It beggars belief that anyone can post about how something sounds (the original question) if they have not actually heard such item.

Even playing "devils advocate" is not really any help.

I don't see people here describing the sound of something they haven't heard, They might make some basic assumptions about an item based on their experience and analysis but I would see that as a different thing.

The Devil's Advocate is an essential tool of every inquisitive mind. Just as defensiveness is the enemy of learning.
