I have seen that pic before but its still as ridiculous as the first time I saw it
Subwoofer in an unused chimney stack is my next project
I wonder if I will be able to hear it outside ?
Subwoofer in a chimney stack? Be ambitious, Stu.

With concrete evidence!
Where's that bloody **GROAN** smiley when you need it.?
When you find it let me know, then I might be able to use it with some of your jokes

I know this thread is a bit of fun, but it is worth being a bit serious for a minute.
I suggest Slinger’s copied hollow breeze block speaker photo is a spoof. Unless the two chambers have been opened up (broken through), the bass reflex port is in the wrong place. There is no benefit to the tweeter to be in a ported chamber. It is the main driver that needs the port.
Hmm, concrete plinths for turntables. Probably better than the original lightweight thin wood structures, but not a patch on natural Slate with it’s natural CLD qualities. Same rule applies to Granite bases. Granite is crystalline and therefore does not properly dissipate energy like a CLD design does. Even the plywood/mdf/rubber sheet/metal sheet designs will work better than concrete or Granite.

Scores of audiophiles were on the cusp of concreting their speakers and turntables, Stu. Something had to be done.

They know how to build loudspeakers in Taiwan as well
(yes, this IS a single speaker - they couldn't get planning permission for a stereo pair).
