Really sorry to hear that chunk. Please enjoy all the time you have left enjoying your music and the other important things in your life. If I came across as rude then I apologise.

I know only too well what a larger woofer can do for the music. In my case I just could not accommodate them at home because of the size of enclosure they need. will be enjoying them at work though. A big woofer has so many advantages - they can go lower, produce low frequencies with an ease and composure that small mid bass drivers can't and usually have lower distortion because they don't have to move much.

Enjoy. I hope you can spend as much time on here as possible.

Regards, Stu

Well that took an unexpected turn.

Chunk as someone whose wife was told to get my children and say goodbye to me, I feel for you.

This forum is getting like Dad's Army. Where the stars pass away, one by one.

Even though we knew they wouldn't live forever, it's still sad when another one goes.

I hope that when I go, they don't bury me in one of my speakers. Even though they're big enough, it'd be a waste of a good speaker.

Chunk. Sorry to hear about your condition. Make the most of whatever you can and if the Dad's Army here can help with some light relief then spout whatever you like.

Music is a comfort, solace, diversion, whatever. It is the factor that binds us here - we can argue about the gear but we all love the music.

My thoughts are with you.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Never thought this was coming. It all started from waking one morning with no movement in my right hand. After a bit I decided to go to my local A&E who dismissed me without so much as a check of my blood pressure. 4 weeks later I felt really poorly and could not walk or talk properly and with still no use of my right hand I returned to A&E where despite my wife continually saying I needed urgent help they let me sit for 5 hours. Turns out I was having a brain haemorrhage.
That is when they also found the tumors.I am now on immunotherapy and responding well and apart from that damned hand I am back to normal although probably only have 8-12 months.
That is my story and why I finally bought the subs. My music is sounding wonderful and making me happy every day. That is how I intend to stay.
At 54 years of age I was looking forward to at least another 20 years of hifi upgrades. Now I am just enjoying full range sound from my LP's and CD's.
