Yes I am and I have only been following the instructions of BK and REL to wire the subs which again is their preferred method.. Not sure of their hi level input engineering. I can only trust their electronics. As the manufacturer of the amps I will now look at your recommendations and maybe reconsider my connections. Although they have been working flawlessly and sounding superb for 2 weeks.

My instruction is clear. The safe way to connect to your subwoofers is from your preamp outputs. If you want to leave it as it is, and take the risk, it is up to you.

We are hopeful that Tomasz can return to the UK in mid to late January. He has a list of new builds, upgrades and a couple of previously booked repairs. If you fry your Cubes / amps, in the meantime, you will be at the back of the queue, and we may have to wait for parts (we have a limited stock of amplifier boards until our new ones arrive). If the parts don't arrive in time then you will be looking at the next visit - early March, possibly.

There will also be a 'stupidity' tax applied to your bill

I used to plug my sub into the pre amp. When I bought Cube 3s I found the sound was better without it.

There is no way I would connect a speaker and an amplifier in series.

I would imagine that the manufacturer of the Sub expects that they will be connected in Parallel with the speakers but knowing that NVA amps don't like capacitive loads I wouldn't even do that. What Paul says is correct, you need to feed the Subs from a pre-amp to protect the main amps. But I'm only an avionics specialist, what would I know?

Both subs are connected in parallel to the Cubes and again this is the manufacturers preferred method. The subs have 2 different inputs. One input is l&R rca's low level the high level is a speakon input designed to be connected to amplifier speaker outputs. I will Paul's advice and consider my options.

Seems a bit daft risking your NVA amps (if you don't mind me saying so). This subject came up quite often in the past and the Doc always said to run subs from the preamp and use the sub's inbuilt amplifier .(unless they are passive).

Not according to what you have described in your first post. You've either wrongly described the connections or you don't understand the difference between 'in parallel' and 'in series'.

Anyway, at your own risk.

I understand parallel and series very well Paul. I can assure you they are in parallel. Again I must explain these subwoofer inputs have been designed to be connected to power amplifier outputs and therefore I have to trust their design. In fact it is REL and BK's preferred option. If there is a problem in the future I would take it up with BK the sub manufacturer.
My post was ment to share my delight at finally trying subs and realising my long term goal in hearing full range sound in my system. I understand maybe a friendly reservation in how subs are designed and connected but wasn't prepared for the rudness and hostility..
I have recently been diagnosed with multiple brain tumors these are inoperable and therefore terminal. The subs are a gift to myself for my last few
months . Hopefully my amps will hold out till I go.
Life is too short literally.

I'm glad you're enjoying your subs. I put a 10" sub in my second (non-NVA) system and I was quite surprised at how much of a positive difference it made to my Epos ES11s.
