Amazon Alexa

I know the audio quality on most Amazon "Echo" devices isn't up to much, but it's good enough for background, and in case you didn't know there's a skill (Amazon's version of an app) for Radio Paradise available, which I've got on in the background via an Echo Show 8 right now.

It's also a decent time to buy a "Show" as there are a lot of older models going cheap. i.e...

Echo Show 5 | 2nd generation (2021 release) £49.99
Echo Show 5 (1st Gen, 2019 release) £37.99

Delving a bit deeper, here's what you can "ask" Alexa to do via the Radio Paradise skill, including switching mixes.

I've just tested it by switching to the "Mellow" mix and it worked seamlessly.

Mellow mix for me in the morning before work, whilst having a brew and browsing various news outlets

Eclectic/World mix in the evening when no-ones about.

I hear Alexa once in 2019 so it must have been first gen. Have to admit that it spooked me out. :lol:
