The problem with Qobuz is gaps in the catalogue but I have recently overcome that to a large extent. They have a facility where you can inform them of missing albums and they usually put things right if you provide a link to it from another streaming platform. I have been doing so with free Spotify. Soundiiz turned out to be a red herring for this.
Qobuz seem to be the only streaming platform who will be at the Bristol show. If I go, not far to travel and I have a rail card, they will be of interest.

My first iteration of a multi layer Rega Planar 8 platter was made yesterday, there's a couple of small tasks to finish off the visual side of things.
So far so good, it's already an improvement on the original Rega platter, not in a night and day sort of way, some aspects are subtle, others noticeable, the most obvious everything sounds louder. I don't know why this has happened but I am on my 5th or 6th test LP and it's happened to everyone 🤷.
Once it's completed I will get a few pictures up

Ps my niece's £6k laser is an amazing bit of kit, it has a tolerance of 0.1mm which is good enough for my needs. It's fascinating to watch it in action.

Decided I will be getting a Wiim Pro streamer / dac from the evil Amazon for £150. Landfill when it goes pop but hey I can't be arsed with audio enthusiasm anymore, I just want to listen to the fecking music man.

I will hook that up to my AP20 with either B&W CM1 standmounts or modified TL B&W P4's. I am leaning more towards the unmodified CM1 as they haven't been ruined by me.

The other day I was looking at the Q acoustics M20 active speakers with built in streamer and dac for £400. Was tempted by those as a completely fuss free way to enjoy my music. I still am tempted but being a tight arse the wiim pro plus bits and bobs I already have is quote a bit cheaper.

As far as I am concerned now, all the obsessive shite that goes along with this so called hobby can go fuck itself :hand: I am not interested anymore. I have stopped even clicking on most threads here as they are of zero interest. Don't look at any other hifi or drum related stuff anymore either.

I feel a lot better for it and my general mood is on the up. I stopped boozing six weeks ago and not a drop has passed my lips. I have noticed an improvement with all parts of my life due to this alone. That's it for good now, I am addicted to feeling better. Got more work and homd improvements done than I have for years and feeling enthusiastic about it now. I have a better laugh with my family and friends and don't need the drink to be sociable, which I doubted before.

Well done Stu, music can still be enjoyed on a simple set-up, these last few years, I no longer feel the need to change cables, isolation and all those smaller upgrades that reading forums would have you believe night to day improvements can be heard.
Stay happy.

+1
I am even happier with what I am hearing at home after attending my first hifi show a few weeks back. This includes taking into account the adverse effects of the hotel rooms.

Tim, over at TAS, was enquiring about the WiiM kit, and a couple of users (including "ant") have passed on their views if you're interested, Stu. I'm passing this on here as you said you'd stopped visiting. The thread is here WiiM Mini & WiiM Pro Music Streamers

The old LMS squeezebox types rate the WiiM kit as a good replacement for ailing squeezeboxen, which is quite an accolade. The only reason I haven't tried one is that I have way too many streaming boxes as it is.

Anything designed to play nicely with Apple should be trouble free, or as trouble free as anything computer related can be.

Bought the Wiim pro. Arrives to.orrow via amazon delivery slave. That's it,hifi complete. JBL charge 5 is going in kitchen diner, bathroom, toilet, outside, garage, shed, holiday. Basically where ever it is required.

Various items will be attempted to be sold, others will go straight in the skip. Cleanse the mind.
