Re: Power cables and fuses
I have never tried 'audiophile' mains cables (and have no fuses anyway) but after installing a solar-panel array there was a lot of transformer hum from the NVA equipment - especially from the BMU - when the panels were active. A DC Blocker was inserted into the mains line, which cleared the problem and also improved the sonics a bit.

Re: Power cables and fuses
I'm waiting for someone to offer to sell me my own 30KVA generating system to eliminate all the noise from the power station contactors, sub-station transformers etc.
Last time I needed power that clean and reliable was 20ish years ago and it cost 900Kg of Jet A1 per hour. The power may have been clean but the engine certainly wasn't.

Re: Power cables and fuses
10KW no problem could bridge it and get 40KW 80% eff.
Now you will need 200 off 300A/Hr 24V Truck batteries, and the space.
Oh short circuiting it will be silly so keep the cat of it. And as one my students did find by putting a aluminium tray with coffee on top of the terminal of the batteries was a bad idea, Alex survived but my favourite Coffee Mug did not, a sad day.
A big bang I suspect it was heard in Hainault Forrest, my ears rang for days.
I wonder where Alex is today? working for KGB maybe.

Re: Power cables and fuses
The possible Hum problem is the power inverter are Square wave or digitally reshape square waves, a pure Sine Wave would be better.Fretless wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:10 am I have never tried 'audiophile' mains cables (and have no fuses anyway) but after installing a solar-panel array there was a lot of transformer hum from the NVA equipment - especially from the BMU - when the panels were active. Amazon do a few and so does C.P.C. But check first, a Class D type running a clock of over 100KHz maybe OK but check for DC bias on it output as this will cause Hum.
Good luck, best Col
