Richard was away from the business for 10 years. A lifetime when it comes to hifi .

Its possible people remebered nva and Richard when he came back , I will never forget him, but the only real person who can answer this question is no longer here

They definitely remembered Richard and NVA. A lot of stories at shows were along the lines of...

'Oh, I remember seeing NVA in the mags'

'I bought an AP30 from Signals in the 1980s'

'Ooh, are you back?'

The forum (and eBay listings) picked up new customers (including myself), but in relatively small numbers. Richard would regularly come back to the question 'how do I get more people to listen to NVA?' He encouraged bake-offs but they have been few and far between. A loan scheme brings it's own costs and it doesn't tend to reach beyond the customers that you already have.

eBay reaches good numbers, but you need to pay additional fees to get your items on the first page if people aren't searching by your brand name. eBay is also associated more with discounters and stock clearances, and I don't want to play that game with NVA.

I had not heard of NVA until 2016. I lost interest in hifi in the mid 80s because of the flat earth :Bllocks: and hearing a LP12. My interest returned nearly thirty years later through the Internet. The rest is history. I found that NVA provided far better SQ than I had experienced before at a far lower price than at a dealer. It has sounded better and better with the improvements I have made to the digital front end.

Something in the Financial Times today about a Government post Brexit scheme to offer foreign buyers loans to buy British goods and support UK businesses. Short on detail but don't think it would be much use to NVA.

I spoke with the HMRC helpline. They are clearly exasperated, themselves, with the byzantine regulations and the dire situations being faced by many small businesses. NVA is a lot less worse off than many. The agent told me, off the record, that 'something has to change'.

He's not as young as he used to be...

It's been a frustrating time. He's itching to get back here.
