Forum Limited Edition - M160 monoblocks

Unread post by savvypaul »

We've managed to put together another Forum Limited Edition for you. We're getting this one in before we go VAT registered, to keep the price down!

M160 monoblocks - built in S80 size cases, 80va per channel (twice the va of the S80), our new UK manufactured amplifier boards that are in the new integrated amplifier, Toroidy audio grade transformers, Vishay capacitors. Speaker cables NOT included but deals possible if buying at the same time.

£800 per pair. No returns on these - they won't be part of our 'public' range', and you already know that you love the NVA sound! I've had a prototype set playing here. They are beautifully smooth and open - the 'signature' NVA sound in a very neat package.

Price includes UK delivery. Card or Paypal payments accepted - can do Klarna on these but there is an additional 2.5% charge. Order by end of November for estimated delivery in late December / early January. VAT registration in the near future, and the widespread rises to parts prices probably make this the last time we can do such a deal.

To buy: PM to myself, or reply to this thread

Hi Paul, these would be perfect for me, can you message me to discuss trading in the S80 I bought a month or so ago please.
Best regards

Jason

Several people asking how long the offer is available for...

...definitely up to the end of November. After that, VAT registration and / or parts costs may well make it unviable.

Simply said - if you want it at this daft price, do it before the end of November. Payment secures your amps.

Hi Paul -

I'd definitely be interested . . .

What would be the 'arrangement' on trading in the "Starter System" amp?

Many thanks,

Geoff B

We didn't price these with trade-ins in mind, but we'll see what we can work out. How long ago did you buy the Starter Bundle?

PS. Great avatar!

Trade-ins - lots of enquiries - so, to cut a long story short, these cost us £500 in parts and labour, to make. Any trade-in is going to have a minimum balance to pay of that amount. I know we will have your trade-in to sell, but these are going to take sales away from the S80, so it will potentially take us a long time to sell any that we take in.

The point of the Forum 'special' is to give longstanding NVA supporters a bargain - and these are the biggest bargain in brand new hi-fi. If you already have an S80, add these and bi-amp; you won't regret it. And, we'll do you a good price on any cables that you buy at the same time.

If you really want a trade-in, though, be realistic about the above, and note that we will only take in NVA items that are less than 3 years old against these monoblocks (different for the integrated, where all brands / ages will be considered).

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul - They were delivered on the 29th June (a little longer ago than I had thought).

I fully understand if a trade-in isn't possible. The bi-amp option hadn't occurred to me :)
I'd need another set of cables if I take that route (one at 4m, one at 5m), I guess.

All the best

Geoff

Quick question on placing the amps -

Would the sound quality be compromised by 'stacking', would there be potential heat issues?
Or shall I prepare a second shelf to put them side-by-side as I have with the pre/power pair?

I can take either approach. Ta !!
