Going back to this thread I did not realise that it is the best part of two years since I bought the SC. Because of the characteristics of Chord DACs the only upgrade path would be the big step up to TIS. This upgrade had been on my mind for some time before I was notified that an ex dem pair was available at a knock down price. it was a no brainer. As trade in is not available for ex dem sales I was given a VIP discount (thanks Paul).

The cable arrived in less than 48 hours and WOW. An increase in clarity was immediately noticable. Added to this I was hearing things I was not hearing before at the frequency extremes. This is all the more important at the low volume my second system is played at. Before the mid range used to me a lot more prominent. Music is more realistic and enjoyable. TIS connecting the DAC to the pre amp has improved my second system to the same extent as it did with the main system years ago. In my opinion its addition is equivalent to upgrading a major component.

Nice to hear that CN. Through the years I've had the original SoundCord, Sound Pipes (the stiff stuff), SSC and SSP. The one I have never had is TIS.

Have to say that TIS is my reference and the only thing that comes close is small gauge silver wire on low contact area plugs - and you gotta make it yourself 'cos no one sells it as far as I know.
