The Symphonic Jean-Michel Jarre

A founder figure of modern electronic music but the son of renowned film-music composer Maurice Jarre, Jean Michel Jarre was trained in classical music from a young age and his student experiments led him to acidentally create a breakthrough magnum opus with 'Oxygene'.
Bearing this in mind it is no surprise that these, originally synthesizer-based, works translate extraordinarily well to performance by a full symphony orchestra.
Project leader Gareth Williams has done sympathetic arrangements and turned the compositions into something new and magnificent. Sections from Chronology and Revolutions come over particularly well.
A 2CD set with HDCD encoding reveals superb recording and does justice to these works.

Highly recommended.
