Quentin Collins/Brandon Allen Quartet - What's it Gonns Be? Saw them at Ronnie Scott's a while ago: such a tight band, with lots of juicy Hammond playing. Great saturday morning jazz.

Fields - "Fields". Can't believe it took me so long to discover this prog classic: Graham Fields was one of the two keyboard players in the 1st incarnation of Rare Bird (he was responsible for "Sympathy"), and "Fields" is the link between "As Your Mind Flies By" and "Epic Forest" , 1st release by Rare Bird Mk 2 - so Rare Bird Mk 1.5 :)

It's full of fabulously fruity Hammond playing. Got the CD release on Esoteric, and was curious enough to pick up a copy of the original LP, which, though noisier, sounds much better. If you like early 70s Charisma/Harvest/Island/Vertigo-style prog, you'll love this.

Mmm. It's the way she seems to be breathing into your ear when she's singing. As Jack Nicholson's Joker said to Michael Keaton's Batman, "Sure puts steam in a man's strides."

Nick Harper 'Instrumental'. Nick's first album and some fine guitar work.
