Tyrone O'Sullivan

I am very saddened as he is the most famous person I have had contact with. I worked in the energy department of the Welsh Government between 1998-2013 and attended many meetings with him in Cardiff, Tower Colliery and London with UK Government officials. He was an extremely nice guy with a great sense of humour and on our first meeting came over completely different to how I anticipated. We got on well. In 2002 I accepted his invitation to go underground at Tower Colliery. Had to walk four and a half miles to to the coal face as the conveyor insurance did not cover guests. It was an experience me and two colleagues will never forget. It certainly gave me a good insight and showed I was not "a soft office boy" :lol:

He will be remembered and missed. Tower Colliery was economic decades after Thatcher wanted to close it.

I was, ...still am, a big Groundhogs fan. Tony released some great solo stuff too and was a terrific acoustic player as well as an electric guitarist. He also released a couple of classic blues albums with the late, great Jo-Ann Kelly.
