I didn't realise he was still alive. Rest in peace nonetheless.

I was not aware he was still alive either. He made it to 87 with his life style which goes to show you can't believe everything you read about healthy living. A true pioneer and rock n roll legend. R.I.P.

I've got a few of his 'sings country ' albums. Chas Hodges played in his band in the late 60s, I think. Says he learnt how to play piano by watching him.

My dad made it to 87. He died of stomach cancer.

His lifestyle had a number of significant stomach cancer risk factors. If he had had a different lifestyle he may have not developed stomach cancer, or he may have developed it a few years later than he did. Without the stomach cancer, there's a good chance he would have lived for a few more years than he did.

I don't know enough about Jerry Lee Lewis's lifestyle and the exact cause of his death to comment about any links or lack of links between the 2.

We are all going to die some time. But to me it makes sense if my death isn't my fault.

Jerry Lee with a young Chas on bass. It's quite possible that Ritchie Blackmore was playing guitar that night too, as a part of the Outlaws, who were one of the main pickup bands of the time. As well as Jerry Lee they backed Gene Vincent, John Leyton, Geoff Goddard, Heinz, Dave Berry, and many more, when they toured England.
