all those electronic sound effects you hear on Hawkwind lps (or that track on "Dark Side of the Moon", or "Alpha Centari" Tangerine Dream)) are Peter's '69 invention, the EMS VCS3 . (no keyboard but keyboard added later and known as the "SYNTHI" or "Putney". The EMS Synthi A = VCS3 in a briefcase)
Peter joined forces with BBC RadioPhonic Workshopists, Brian Hodgson and the legendary Delia Derbyshire to form Unit Delta Plus in the 60's
Used to be you could find a VIRTUAL VCS3 on the internet which you could play with, but seems to be gone now. Anyone???

Not music-related, but a bloke I knew a bit, stupidly played against, and had a good few fun drinks with back in the day. RIP Andy "The Viking" Fordham; gentle giant and all-round lovely guy.
