Oh no Charlie 😔 He was an outstanding drummer and appeared to be a decent fella by all accounts

Hard to believe that a Rolling Stone has died of natural causes.

But Charlie Watts is a great loss - a gentleman and also an excellent Jazz drummer.

I knew Charlie was ill, he'd pulled out of the latest tour. There was no indication it was as serious as this though.
He was a brilliant drummer, a fact that's often glossed over when we tend to talk about the band as a homogenous unit, and of course, Mick and Keef got most of the publicity outside of that.

I'm sure Stu could articulate just how good he was far better than me.

Married in 1964, he leaves behind his wife Shirley, daughter Seraphina, born in 1968, and granddaughter Charlotte, born in 1996.

Charlie was, and always will be, a proper legend, in a world where that word is routinely overused.

Not an obituary.

He was always the coolest guy in the band. A top bloke.

He just loved playing the drums. The fact that it was in sold out stadiums throghout the world for decades made no difference to him. Although he was content for Jagger and Richards to call the shots he would stand for no nonsence. There is a reported occassion when he firmly put Jagger in his place for referring to him as "my drummer".

More than a little shocked at this news, as others have said, a great drummer and great loss.
RIP Charlie
