That's the end of the Elizabethan era, that we've all been living in for so long. From birth for most of us.
I have a feeling that with hindsight she will be seen as a relatively good monarch.
She at least kept herself away from major scandals.

I see King Charles III as a principled (enough) man.

Along with "God save the king!" I'd say "God save all of us..."

She had a passion for horse racing. Fitting that I was at Chepstow racecourse when she passed on.

RIP David Malachowski (67)

David Malachowski was a multi-genre touring guitarist, producer, musical director, journalist, composer and cancer survivor living in New York City. He was currently guitar #1 on the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour, as well as guitarist with Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal & Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Michelle Shocked and Pavlov's Dog.

He was guitarist/musical director for Shania Twain from 1995-1997, David had also toured with Janie Fricke, Garth Hudson, and Genya Ravan, and was a former member of Savoy Brown and Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen.

He was a terrific actor, and let's forget "Hagrid" for a moment, and remember "Cracker" and the superb "Tutti Frutti".

I think I first saw him in Tutti Frutti, which remains one of my favourite comedies. And, he was perfect as Fitz in Cracker. Gone too soon.
