Wilko Johnson was once interviewed about his guitar style.
He was asked how he achieved his "sound"
"I plug the guitar in, turn the amp on and turn the knob to about there."
"What about pedals?" he was asked
" I'm a guitarist, not a f------ cyclist"
Having been in his company several years ago in a south Essex pub his language reminded me of the 20 odd years I spent in the London docks. He was certainly a character.

There's a bit of that here, and there are a few other interviews on YouTube as well About the only thing I've got in common with Wilco, as a guitarist, is that we both loved Mick Green.

Sad news. A clued up friend got me into Feelgood early on. Wilko was central to Feelgoods success.
When we first saw them they were often second on the bill to the likes of Blondie (not my cuppa but clearly popular) Later on they were headliners with people like John Cooper Clarke or John Ottaway & Wild Willy Barrett as support. They were so powerful live, visual aggressive and it didn't matter how shit your week had been a Feelgood set would transform your mood.
RIP Wilco you were the real deal
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
(Fame)
I'm gonna live forever
Baby, remember my name
(Remember, remember, remember, remember)
