Social distancing seems the socially responsible thing to do. Gigs are non-essential and it is reasonable that they should be cancelled. Slow the spread of the virus to help the NHS, the vulnerable and elderly, and to give the government the best chance to source more ventilator machines.

Non-essential travel looks difficult, also. I've got a pile of 2nd hand LPs & books to work my way through...will put a beach scene on the telly.

It seems that the big bands not short of a few bob cancelled tours some time ago while others waited until they had no choice. Agree that social distancing has to take place and we have to live with the inconveniences. I cancelled my subscription to Sky Sports yesterday, no point until things settle down. No gigs, no racing (likely to be behind closed doors until at least the end of June), holidays likely to be cancelled, the hifi, music and a bit of fishing will be keeping me sane.

I go to the Let's Rock Leeds 1980's Festival every year. Won't be going this year.

Tried to buy tickets to see Robert Plant in Pocklington a while back but the bloody thing sold out. I shouldn't think that will be going ahead.

We have tickets to go see a Fleetwood mac tribute in April at Sheffield City Hall, no word on cancellation on that as of yet

Spare a thought for the musicians. No gigs = no pay. Classical musicians are being hit already, with gigs cancelled overnight after what can be months of preparation and rehearsals.

My point about the major acts cancelling tours some time ago and other, even in the at risk age, only doing so now. They depend on gigs because hardly any one buys albums now. Merchandise sales are also important.

It would appear that the only reason music venues, pubs, clubs etc are not being forced to close in this country is to prevent them claiming on there insurance. This will be of benefit to those who put Johnson where he is who would stand to loose if vast sums had to be paid out from their investments. With the advice thst people should not enter such premisis many are likely to be forced out of business before this dies down to the detriment of everyone.

On a personal note I have been informed that the Fish concert has been rescheduled to 14 February 2001, defeating the object of the Vigil in a wilderness of mirrors 30th anniversary tour. Await news of new Who and Magnum dates.

Apparantly Neil Young will be streaming from his home.

Have rescheduled dates for The Who (March 2021) and Nick Mason (October). Awaiting news on Magnum.

The last of my cancelled concerts tonight, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets. It is the earliest resheduling, in October. Can't see it taking place then or any mass gatherings until there is a vaccine. Two of my four cancelled gigs were before the lockdown showing bands/venues were more aware of the seriousness of the situation than this government.

Now resheduled for May 2021. This will be the longest I have been without seeing a band in 45 years. Same with going to a pub.
