Music for Christmas

Unread post by karatestu »

I always ask for music for Christmas. It's an easy one for people to get me. Never disappoints (unless it is a bad pressing). Last year i got some Buddy Rich stuff and a few Miles Davis to fill the gaps in my collection.

This year i asked for Cannonball Adderley, Art Blakey, Count Basie and some other jazz stuff..I usually go to town with my wife and end up buying myself a Christmas present too

Went in to York yesterday and bought a few Cd's. Looked at vinyl but the prices were a bit eye watering.Fancied a Stevie Nicks LP box set but eventually talked myself out of it.

Bought the following on CD

Ozzy Osbourne - Randy Rhoades Tribute (to replace the copy i lost  - bet it turns up now  )
The Comet is coming - Trust in the lifeforce of the deep mystery
Dinosaur - Wonder trail
The Raconteurs - Help us stranger

 :guiness;

I was in HMV earlier this week.

They had a 'special edition' box set of the Ramones 'It's Alive' double live album...£93.

I bought the original, the week it came out, for around £6, iirc...which seemed like a lot of money!

You can also play the Last Christmas game with your friends and family.

Last person to hear Last Christmas by George Michael is the winner.

Got some music for christmas, and bought music for people for Christmas.
My wife pulled a blinder this year though, she got me placebo without you I'm nothing on vinyl, and a very early 1979 Japanese pressed mofi copy of dark side of the moon..... Where the hell she got that from I don't know....

I got her souxsie and the banshees - juju, joy division-closer and the labyrinth soundtrack.

My grandchildren thought it would be funny to burn Grandad a copy of Stormzy's "Heavy Is The Head," after hearing me talking about his politics. It's not awful.
