Blew my mind too. Now to find what he played on and buy it before Fret buys it all

Can't believe it's taken me this long to mention Joe Dart of Vulfpeck. What a numb nuts I am.

Re: Favourite Bassist
Vulfpeck??
I thought you were joking until I looked them up.
Must have a listen.
Anyway bass-heads, guitar-freaks and all those of a music-making disposition, here's something to put on your Xmas list.
The Hotone Wally+ Loop Station.
In my picture here it is the tiny purple thingy in front of the other standard-size effect pedals.
Ridiculous! For a pocket-money price you get 330 minutes of loop storage, split between 11 30-minute memories. In 24bit 44.1KHz quality. Unlimited overdub capacity. Variable-speed playback. USB connectivity.
Built like a tank and an intuitive doddle to use.
Now I can make that triple-concept-bass-only-solo-album epic that I have always dreamed of.

Re: Favourite Bassist
Miroslav Vitous is another inventive and accomplished contrabassist, early Weather Report and various ECM lineups.
On Return To Forever's 'Live' album there is an extended contrabass solo from Stanley Clarke where he does some terrific improvising and goes into an acoustic version of 'School Days' wich has awesome riffing.
It's all about the bass.

I've got a cute little TC Ditto looper pedal, but to be honest I haven't done much more than play around with it a bit. I've got two main pedal-boards, one for guitar and one for bass (All Ashdown/Dr Green) then I bought one of these, All the amps and FX you can eat in the one box, and it's wireless.
Amps - NVA P50, AP30, A40, Stanislav Palo Tube Headphone Amp BB 85
Speakers - Monitor Audio Silver RX2
Cables - NVA LS1+LS3, SSC, Gotham S/PDIF, IBRA Optical
Digital - NAD C516BEE, SONY ST-SDB900 DAB TUNER, TEAC UD-H01 DAC
Analogue - Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB, Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 Phono
Cans - Grado SR80, ATH-M50X

Line6 Spider - very nice. I have a Line6 DL4 Delay unit which is great.slinger wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 3:19 pm I've got a cute little TC Ditto looper pedal, but to be honest I haven't done much more than play around with it a bit. Was considering the TC Ditto but went for the Wally. Very similar devices to use.
I use loops & drones a lot to improvise over. Certainly helps your fretless intonation when you have a tonal reference.

Re: Favourite Bassist
I love Line6 stuff, I've got quite a few bits and pieces of it. I've solved the intonation problem, by the way, I bought a lined fretless Jazz bass.Fretless wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 3:52 pmLine6 Spider - very nice.
