favourite album releases of 2020

1 - Rough and Rowdy ways - Bob Dylan - Stunningly soulful and melancholic from the voice like sand and glue
2 - A Hero's death - Fontaines DC - Excitingly edgy from the Irish Beat poets.
3- Disco Volador - Orielles - Clever writing and mixing, breezy poppy optimism ( I stole the last bit)

Go on, what are yours?
Kevin.

My vote would go for Bob Dylan too. As it's the only mainstream original album release from this year that I''m aware of that hasn't been compressed to high heaven.

I haven't bought anything released this year. It's all cack innit. I did like Stevie Wonder's new songs though.

I have got hold of a bizarre amount of CD's in 2020, the lockdown activated the manic record-collector in me and I acquired many discs that I had been missing / considering / intrigued by for years.

However there weren't many actually released in the last 12 months that got my attention, and those are:

The Enid - U
Nightwish - Human II Nature (2CD)
Samantha Fish - Kill or Be Kind
Pat Metheny - From This Place
Nigel Mullaney - 31 Days
Rick Wakeman - The Red Planet
Silje Nergaard - Silje Nergaard (2CD)
Tangerine Dream - Pilots of Purple Twilight (10CD box)

And still on my 'wants' list before the end of the year:

Dixie Chicks - Gaslighter
Kansas - The Absence of Presence
Ian Boddy - Axiom
Loreena McKennit - Lost Souls
