Pleased you're enjoying vinyl again Fretless, of course it does sound great, but the inconvenience compared to digital has seen many give up on vinyl. I will be interested to see if you still have the same feelings about using vinyl in one years time, after the euphoric 'I'm back into vinyl' stage.

Good point Antonio, probably I'll move onto a combination of file-based CD & LP rips as the hi-res 96/24 vinyl copies retain much of that relaxing analogue character. And the convenience of digital streaming playback through the various network setups around the house.

Still, the familiar motions of respectfully handling LPs and watching the big black things go round is very physically satisfying.

Why is everyone so bloody lazy these days ? Giving up on vinyl because I have to get out of my seat every 20 mins  Same with remote control. No wonder there are so many fatties.

I think I see a business opportunity for the next hifi show or bake off. You could have a 'vinyl petting' room for those poor souls who have strayed too far into the dark side of digital and need to re connect with the black round things that used to make music

I sometimes have to do it after one song. Depends on the album .

That was not my reasoning behind the inconvenience, more to do with set-up, isolation, cleaning records, and of course the space taken up by 500+ records.

Spsce and domestic harmony were big issues for me. My CD collection was constantly expanding, especially when they became cheaper, and large cabinets were all over the place. Not an issue with vinyl as the collection was minimal in comparison.
