In theory I could listen to a side of one album indefinitely without the need to move as long as someone occasionally presses start as they pass by 😂😂😂
Remember the old auto-change gramophones where you could mount a stack of LP's on the spindle and they would play one by one?

I've gone through this same thing recently. had a highly modded rega rp6 with 2m black. (most parts now sold on)... very very smooth, very very nice. so, I thought sod it.. tough year so got hold of a technics sl1200-g.. fitted AT-760 MM Cart, Kab damper and a 5mm funk firm mat.... whooooooooaaah Leslie!......next, hooked up an mcru mains lead and some nva ssp MKII.....whoah leslie X 2!!

so.. set up sorted..... Its like I've a new record collection.. well not really,,,, but just more comes through.. happy... better playback than some "high end" cd players... maybe I'm deaf, maybe need to yawn more? who knows...just works.

that's now lead me to buying more vinyl from local stores (online) or indie stores from different cities.... I use my Tidal streaming service to demo albums.. if I really like em, I buy the Vinyl from an indie or direct artist..

AND IT'S BANDCAMP FRIDAY!!! brilliant concept... profits to artists when purchased on a friday :)

for me, Vinyl is the only thing I've heard that comes close to that live performance.... I'd probs have to spend more money I don't have to reach that electronically.

remember, sibilance is mainly in the damaged ears ;-)

I would not recommend selling your vinyl.... I did this in 2004, gave away over 500 records from when I was a DJ many years ago....sad I did it.. however I did donate them to a guy I know runs a youth music scheme.. so the kids got to use them for practice.

If you do sell, please do list here 1st.. If you have any 1st pressing Zappa of course ;-).

I’ve bought over 400 LP’s in the last 12 months, I got one job lot of 60’s vinyl (150 LP’s) for £90, and recently bought a 70’s/80’s collection of 140 LP’s for £0.75 each, 80% in near mint condition, and 70% albums I really like.

Many are for my daughters collection, but I cherry picked the best for myself.

Mostly bought on other forums, people having a clear out.
Modded Belles A150 MK2, P90SA, & NVA SSP cables, and LS5.
Leak Stereo 20 & First Audio Classic Copper V2
Modded Lenco GL75 with Saturn arm, heavy custom plinth. Nagaoka MP500.
Nottingham Audio Hyperspace + heavy kit, + Origin Live Conqueror + Koetsu Black
Tom Evans Micro Grove MK2 MC phono
Bluesound Node2i (x2) both with latest power upgrades.
Topping D90MQA and Topping D90SE
Audiolab 6000 CDT transport.
All NVA cables
