Lulo Reinhardt and Yulia Lanskaya at the Liverpool Phil in September.

Recommended if you like gypsy jazz (jazz manouche) and not exorbitantly expensive.
Blusound Vault 2, P50SA, A80's, BMU, TIS, LS7, MA PL200, Meridian 506 (18 bit).

Was one of the 80,000 at a sell out Wembley stadium last night for one of only two UK gigs on what could be AC/DC's final tour. It was quite an evening with the band in fine form. Angus Young and Brian Johnson defy their advancing years.

A word for the support the Pretty Wreckless who were very good.

Saw KKs Priest at the Tramshed, Cardiff. KK left Judas Priest in less than amicable circumstances and his autobiography did him no favours. His golf course investment was a failure and he has teamed up with Ripper Owen in his own band. Ripper fronted Judas Priest in the 90s when Halford left. The set comprised songs from their two albums as well as Judas Priest material, some unexpected including a rendering of Diamonds and rust closer to the Joni Mitchel original.

A word for the support band Tailgunner who were also excellent. The girl in the band has the shortest hair.. 80s metal certainly lives on played by those born decades later. They have released a good album and another is on the way.

It was a very good night. :character-beavisbutthead:

Got my ticket to see Iron Maiden in Birmingham

The face price was reasonable by today's standards but the booking fee was £18 :angry-screaming:
Something needs to be done about these rip off agencies. For local gigs I buy in person at the box office and make big savings.

Off to see Courtney Pine this evening at the Tung Auditorium. Last saw him over 30 years ago when he was slim.

I saw Elvis Costello and Steve Nieve in Wolverhampton a few days ago.

It wasn’t great. His voice is shot, he sings a half a bar (or more!) behind the music, and messed around and ruined some of my favourite songs. His ‘adaptation’ of ‘Shipbuilding’ was excruciatingly bad.

He had 7 microphones on stage, and was zipping around between them, the sound desk couldn’t keep up with him, so portions of several song had vocals missing.

I last saw him 30 years ago, and he was incredible.

My friend hated every second of the gig. I enjoyed bits of it, Steve Nieve was the star of the show, exceptional tallent, not a missed note.

Elvis was funny, nice stories between songs.
5/10.

Next gigs:
Naima Bock
Ron Sexsmith
Dave Gilmour (Albert Hall)
Modded Belles A150 MK2, P90SA, & NVA SSP cables, and LS5.
Leak Stereo 20 & First Audio Classic Copper V2
Modded Lenco GL75 with Saturn arm, heavy custom plinth. Nagaoka MP500.
Nottingham Audio Hyperspace + heavy kit, + Origin Live Conqueror + Koetsu Black
Tom Evans Micro Grove MK2 MC phono
Bluesound Node2i (x2) both with latest power upgrades.
Topping D90MQA and Topping D90SE
Audiolab 6000 CDT transport.
All NVA cables

Saw Elvis Costello over 40 years ago when he had the voice. Was very disappointed as the set lasted 45 minutes and it seemed he could not wait to get off stage. Felt cheated. A friend saw him in more recent times and said he was good.
