The Russians have a foolproof method to stop foreign agancies from hacking their security services data, they simply pulled the internet plug and never reconnected it again. The West spends silly amounts of cash on firewalls and security consultants and still gets hacked. I think there's a lesson to be learned here :roll:

Except the places the Russian's have hacked are not our Security services. Having met a few folk who have worked for GCHQ, I an certain that they have a better firewall than comes with a BT Router.

Also, look up side channel attacks. Just because a computer or network has an air gap to the internet doesn't guarantee it safe.

I think I read that at least one of the attacks was via a password via social engineering. Generally people are a problem.
