Thanks for the messages. A bit different this year of course. Could never imagine having a birthday without a celebration in a pub(s).

Went for my walk passing by The Coach House, Church Inn, Poachers Arms and Fox & Hounds in what felt like caves of ice to the sacred river Alph (Rhymney) coming home to quench my thirst on honey dew (Hobgoblin) the milk of paradise. :guiness;

A shamefully late thankyou guys for the birthday greets. I love the look of the blue Rickies but not a colour option when I bought mine. My one was a 1979 4001 in Mapleglow with the striped binding. It was fantastic to play, the fastest, slimmest neck I'd ever played. The sound output was typically low so I had the neck pick up rewound and dipped by Kent Armstrong, the change was astonishing, all that lovely Rickenbacker growl but with genuine power. Sadly I hit tough times and I had to sell it, along with my Fender Jazz and Warwick Corvette something I still regret years later. Although I don't play in anger anymore I still have an Ibanez 5 string and a Squire Strat for when I'm feeling adventurous.

Sorry CN, I missed yours. So all the best for you and your family for the next year. I hope you had a nice (probably very small) party!
