[EDIT}
I just braved a peek out of the kitchen window, and it's been snowing again. We've got about an inch laid on the grass outside. Plenty of white roofs to be seen too.

Hardly got through the garden this afternoon. Snowdrifts of up to 50 cm deep. No point in clearing paths as it is still coming down after 24 hours.

Will try doing some shovelling tomorrow - forecast is that the temperature is staying well under freezing for the whole week and so the snow won't be melting.

So it's shutdown + lockdown + curfew in Holland at the moment.

I remember those North Kent coast winters from when I lived in Whitstable during the 60s. Wind direct from Sweden! We moved down to the South Cornwall coast in 2002. I think we've only seen snow about twice since then.

I'm in West Kent, and we're probably about 40 miles inland, so it's not too bad here unless there's another bloody hurricane of course.

The coldest day we have had here but none of the white stuff.
I set a course just east of Lyra
And northwest of Pegasus
Flew into the light of Deneb
Sailed across the Milky Way
On my ship, the Rocinante
Wheeling through the galaxies
Headed for the heart of Cygnus
Headlong into mystery
The x-ray is her siren song
My ship cannot resist her long
Nearer to my deadly goal
Until the black hole
Gains control

RIP Doc

A few flurrys here thisafternoon. Although it is freezing it is colder further east as I found out driving to Heathrow to pick up my wife. Went down to -2.

Came across quite a bit of storm damage out for my walk. The fence repairers will be making hay. The worst storm we have had here this winter and surprising it was not given a name. Perhaps it was going to be Meghan and they thought better of it.

It's been very wet and windy here all day. But enough about my digestive problems...
