We don't have a divine right to life on earth and people of my generation will be dead before anything alarming happens.

Let's hope the youth get thier act together

I think I might be in the HiFi trade.
I am not currently seeking treatment for this.

The longest hottest summers we have had are 1975 and more so in 76 when there was drought and water rationing. This is nothing in comparison unless the heat wave continues throughout August, which I doubt.

I courier around Huddersfield and this afternoon it was 32 deg c in Holmfirth, which is uncomfortable but nowhere near as uncomfortable as when it's -5 deg c and you have to drive back to Manchester over the top in the snow and ice. It's my poor border terrier that I feel sorry for in this weather, he absolutely hates the heat.

For my many sins I am currently cycle touring round North Wales with everything I need attached to the bike. Today's highest temp was 30.5 at 16.15 however only 25 minutes later on the road to Bala the temp dropped to 18 and for 15 minutes it poured down. I am in Bala for the night and it's currently 25c at 19.23 with a welcome breeze. To stay hydrated I was consuming a litre of fluids an hour and at the point the tarmac started to blister it felt like I needed more. I for one am looking forward to a return to cooler temps.

Perfick weather here in Ontario all spring and summer - but little rain at first, its coming now. Usually lawns are going yellow this time of year, but this year bright green. 23 degrees right now. (But fires are burning in the north.

Few days ago was bit hazy. I thought it was fog off the lake but its smoke coming all way from British Columbia/Alberta thousands of miles away. Over 100 fires out of control. Everything going to fuck in the West.

According to many researchers in this area, the situation can’t wait for the next generation to “sort out”

There are many academic studies that you could research yourself but there is a chap I follow on Twitter that has been following and commenting on this subject for over 30 years with the handle #Playingwithfire. His articles are generally well informed and provide a good summary of what is happening around the globe.

Well we're fucked then, those in a position to help ignore the situation.

Presenting the problem as one of individual action is bollocks.
