It's as warm as toast today. Not a good day for doing physical work so I went to work 6am and got it all done half an hour ago. It really was a beautiful time to be out in the countryside. Very quiet, cool enough to do some graft and the wildlife was just a complete joy to behold. I wish I could appreciate it more of the time.

Don't get sun burnt or sun stroke. Drink plenty of water. Admire the ladies with reduced amounts of clothing on

Took the dog for a walk at 0630 this morning - greyhounds are susceptible to heatstroke.

I go for my walks eary in the morning during heat waves, did not bother yesterday as I was hung over. I was out in it all day on Thursday going to the races for the first time in nineteen months. Thankfully some shade at the course, but the mile uphill walk from Chepstow town centre was gruelling. Would have missed out on drinking time had we caught the bus. :guiness; The walk back to the pub was easier, with lighter pockets.

In this hot weather some will say they could murder a few ice cold tinnies. Not the right thing to do ofc. Dehydration is a serious business.

Over 30 degrees here today. Have been making the most of what shade there is in south facing back garden. Can't complain with foreign holidays off the agenda for the forseeable future.

Slightly cold here at about 17 deg c. I've been lighting the fire. You get used to the heat and humidity.

Half the country here is flooded and the river levels are still rising....

... but that's summer in The Netherlands for you.
