I find language fascinating, etymology doubly so.

For instance, did you know that our word "Bungalow" is not derived from the answer to to question "What's the best way to finish a single storey building?" (Bung a low roof on it), but from the Gujarati phrase bund (or band) gala, meaning "run out of bricks".
