I've been watching a lot of car renovation shows lately, but am no petrol head. Have to agree with you Fretless, Wings of Desire is one of my all time faves. First saw it in the late 80s, and it really put the hook in me. Wonderful film with a great soundtrack. Occasionally crank up the old Sony VCR to watch my copy.
NVA amps, speakers, interconnects & speaker cables produce the music.

With help from Technics, Audio Technica, Jelco, Hana, Musical Fidelity, Sony, Cyrus & Soneteer.

Been on a James Bond spree through the Dalton/Brosnan period.

Timothy Dalton was a better Bond than I thought at the time and the Brosnan films have some great action/chase scenes (and Famke Jansen).

I've just watched the first episode of "John-Claude Van Johnson," on Amazon. If you thought John-Claude van Damme was a great sport for taking the piss out of himself in those Coors Light ads, wait until you get a load of him in this.

I always thought Timothy Dalton got a very unfair press. He was a different type of Bond, much more serious and focused than his predecessor Roger Moore. I'm a fan of the Bond films, liking each of the different eras for what they are. Personally the only blot on the landscape was Never Say Never Again, a desperate attempt by a different production crew to make money.

We're watching a German series, 8 days. A meteor on a collision course to strike France, but will devastate Germany as well, and the lives of a few people and how they try and survive. We also watched another German series, Babylon Berlin which we enjoyed.

Love 'Babylon Berlin'. Great plot twists and beautifully filmed.

Last weekend I found something on Netflix that I thought - 'give it a try, see if it's something'.
Ended up watching a complete series (10 short parts) in one sitting, couldn't stop ....
The next day I watched the second series in one go.

This is the show 'Blown Away'

Image

It is a knockout competition for glass-blowers who are given a themed assignment and have to create works in glass within a specific time-limit. This is addictive watching as the process is (very) hot, dirty, sweaty, hard, heavy and requires total concentration.

The results often have an otherworldly beauty.

The most exciting TV I've seen in ages. Really.
