Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
With restrictions being lifted I, and others, fear selfish pricks could cause a third wave and blow what the vaccine is achieving. Should the infection rate rise significantly I don't think bonkers Boris will have the balls to put the breaks on.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
Does anyone here on this forum think it's right that a delivery driver, making a delivery to a pharmacy should be given a £200 fine for forgetting to put a mask on when making the delivery?
Surely it's far more reasonable to ask the delivery driver to put a mask on and to only take further action if he refuses?

Of course.
But, had he been warned before?
Had he previously refused to wear a mask?
We don't know.
Social media is the perfect catalyst for instant reaction. Not saying that's necessarily the motive, here, but...we don't know.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
It really annoys me that being asked to wear a mask for everyone's protection is being portrayed as a civil rights issue.
It's a public health issue, a community safety and society issue.
Wear a mask when required otherwise you'll get zero sympathy from me.
"Ooh I'm sorry mate I forgot," doesn't fly as an excuse when you don't put a seatbelt on and this is the same thing.
And lastly, he went into a chemist's FFS. A place where vulnerable people go to collect their meds!

I think I might be in the HiFi trade.
I am not currently seeking treatment for this.

So you think that the delivery driver deserved to be fined £200?CycleCoach wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 12:44 pm It really annoys me that being asked to wear a mask for everyone's protection is being portrayed as a civil rights issue.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
And on the other hand - as far as we know - this delivery driver had never received any warnings.
Innocent until proven guilty.
What do you think the chances are that this delivery driver had been warned by this police officer and he still didn't put a mask on?
I'd rate it as 0.1%.
And he may well have stayed more than 2 metres away from anyone else in the chemists.
