there not making a mess of handling the crisis, it is expert lead.

there sins of the past mean they cant do all they would want to.

it isn't that long ago that they demonised doctors and cheered in the house of commons because they didn't give them a pay rise.

Give everyone £300 a week and payment holidays for mortgages / rents.

The Tories wouldn't do it because they are ideologically opposed to a universal income. Instead we have a system that will take a couple of months to implement and people falling through the cracks of the various qualifying criteria.

We also failed to join in with the EU scheme to purchase ventilators. At first Boris claimed it was because we would 'explore our own options'...but we could have still done that in addition. Yesterday, the story changed to 'we didn't get the email'. The truth is that Boris put his love of Brexit before our love of breathing.
This a national emergency and Brexshite should be cancelled.

Now that Boris is in his sickbed he can blame the total chaos (including Brexit) on something other than his own megalomania.

Daily Briefing

When Gove is asked if he regrets that the NHS has lost so many ICU beds in the last 10 years (the UK has just 6.6 ICU beds per 100,000 people, compared with Germany's 29.2, Italy's 12.5 and France's 9.7) and that the UK has the lowest number of doctors and nurses per 100,000 people in the developed world...he ignores the question.

It's easy for Labour to say what they would have done, but in reality I can't believe they would done as well as Boris's lot.

But, we'll never know. ;)
The NHS wouldn’t have been fucked under Labour though would it

Those are hard facts and it's impossible for any Tory to spin that hence Gove not answering. As Daniel said, they are now doing their best but they are handicapped by their previous cuts and the last thing you want in a pandemic is to be playing catch up. I hope and pray we can somehow minimise the death and damage thats coming our way.

These figures are frightening and clinicians will have to make decisions. The younger ones paying taxes will take precedences over the older ones on pensions.
