Those of you that know so much better in real terms ,do something. Stop picking on bits of information that proves the negative and inform those who maybe understand less how they can/will cope?

An announcement is due by our beloved leader at 8 pm this evening. Expect the usual U turn and as always well after it should have been done. Nicola got in first :naughty: and we can't have that can we.

Blood is currently boiling :angry-steamingears:

I think understand everyones anger. The question is who could have done any better. Which party, Which leader? I have no love for Boris or this current goverment. The country voted, like it or not. I dont think anyone saw covid coming, did they? What exactly is it that you want to happen now .Without political history or bias if you can .Because I for one havent got a feeking clue

Everything is done too late which means lock downs have to be longer and economic damage is more severe. No lessons learned.

Some of the population have to be forced to comply with the restrictions as they clearly haven't got two brain cells to rub together. York was intier two until recently and the place was full of dick heads who had travelled from West Yorkshire and the North East (tier 3 areas at the time) to go on nights out round the pubs. No surprise that York is doing fairly badly now

Shameful.

It's highly likely that a Labour government would have done a bit better. Labour's ideological instinct has always been to protect people's health. The Conservative's ideological instinct has always been to protect individual freedoms. This has been a significant factor in the UK always being a week or 3 behind the virus. The UK is one of the very worst affected countries in the world, both in terms of deaths and impact on economy.

What I'd like to see is competence, honest communication and the eradication of blatant cronyism. That's very unlikely to materialise, but if Johnson is convinced that Covid will be beaten by Easter (although, he also promised it would be beaten by last Summer, and then last September, and then Christmas) then go into full lockdown, give every child access to a laptop for remote learning, pay all citizens a basic income, cancel business debts, ban evictions...then remove restrictions when a critical mass of people, prioritised by clinical need, have been vaccinated.

Sometimes, I'd prefer not to have a clue, myself. It would be less frustrating.

If Johnson comes out tonight and gives his usual "woe is me, it's such an awful trauma for me to have to make this decision, your sympathy please..." performance, I'll fucking lose control.
