Tablets

Unread post by karatestu »

I need a new tablet. My ancient Samsung 3.0 is on it's last legs.

I want to spend around £250. Looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4" screen for £220.

Anybody with experience of these or any other tablets in this price range ?

Thanks, Kara.

Sorry, I can't help you in that price range. I happily use an Apple iPad Mini 4 but the latest iPad Mini is beyond your budget.

I've got a Huawei MediaPad T3 8" which is a really good little tablet, it might be with looking at their T5 offering, or their "MatePad" which is about £20 over your limit, but you might find a deal somewhere.

Having said that, Samsung are solid tablets, so you probably won't go far wrong with the A7.

No  Should I ?

I could up my budget to £300 but I would rather not if possible.

Chromebooks are great, I've used them for several years, but I would never replace a tablet with one. They are as much different as they are the same.

I have an Amazon Fire which is very good in itself but I would not recommend it, or anything from Amazon, because of their policy of wanting to own your mind, body and soul. The My Cloud app I need to access my NAS is blocked as is UAPP. I can access Qobuz but the app is two years out of date as updates are blocked. I have access to the forbidden fruits via an ancient Teso Hudl and my phone.

Would something like a used premium business Windows / Linux laptop for under £250 meet your needs instead of a tablet?

EG Dell Latitude E7470 for under £250 off UK ebay?

Microsoft Surface laptops can also be used as a tablet.
Reconditioned ones aren't expensive.
