A recent poll shows that 53% of the population want to rejoin the EU. This comprises 82% of those between the age of 18-24, 81% of Labour supporters and the vast majority of those under 45.

Watching Sky News now. A feature on crops rotting in the ground because of the absence of foreign labour.

Something I wrote for my Farcebook page.

Image
4 years ago I first posted that [picture], and it's even more relevant today. We need to be rid of Johnson and his gang of thieves and sexual predators before they completely destroy our country. Labour are now Conservatives-Lite, so we need to find a "third way," while we still have time.

I keep being told that although I left the Labour party after 50 years of supporting them because they had deserted me, and trampled underfoot the very reasons I had supported them previously, I should vote for them, just to get rid of the Tories.
Well, I'm sorry, but I won't do that. I refuse to vote for a party led by a grey man whose political leanings are further right than some Conservatives.

A party that is haemorrhaging members' funds.
A party that is losing the support of the trade unions.
A party whose leader ripped up every single one of the ten lies he passed off as promises to get elected party leader.
A party that spits on Palestine while lauding war crimes and apartheid in Israel.
A party that still thanks me for being a member because of a huge data breach which they have never addressed.

That deal, to me, feels like being told that I can stop getting kicked repeatedly in the bollocks if I'll just accept being punched in the face over and over again as a reasonable alternative.

We need a bloody revolution, preferably a peaceful Socialist revolution, and we need it soon.
As Starmer has just announced that he has no plans to rejoin the EU, or anything associated with it, it seems even more apposite once again.

The problem is - where is the credible opposition to this morally bankrupt bunch of emotionally retarded public schoolboys we call a government?

Yup, that IS the problem. Private Eye is probably the last publication practising proper investigative journalism, and the only people actually holding the government to account are organisations like Led By Donkeys, The Good Law Project, and EveryDoctor.

Labour is now positioning itself (himself) even further to the right, and there is no viable left/centrist party to vote for. We're effectively approaching a one-party state. The faces may change, but the policies will remain the same to a large extent.

What politicians say and what they believe are two different things. I'm sure Starmer wants to rejoin the EU but going public would alienate the pro Brexit red wall and put the Conservatives back in power again. His views on Brexit and the damage it is doing would be different if/when in power. His ideal situation would be a minority government dependent on the support of the Liberals, SNP and DUP. Rejoining the EU, or at least a referendum, would be the price of their support. Starmer could say to the minority of Labour Brexiteers that his hands were tied and he has achieved the goal of removing the Tories.

Apparently the UK has to now pay the EU an additional 5 billion Pounds as part of the Brexit 'divorce settlement'.

Hope they take that out of Boris's retirement fund.

Miniscule to what damage trade sanctions will do should the N Ireland protocol be broken. We will be hit by the US as well as the EU. Taking back control.

Johnson's "oven ready" deal has not only set fire to the cooker but the kitchen itself seems to be ablaze now.
