Poor old Weatherspoon ;-)

On another victorious note, Jacob Rees Mogg has just announced that the second most interesting benefit of Brexit is the UK can now have more powerful vacuum cleaners than the EU allowed - honestly I am not making this guff up.

What possesses the Somerset electorate to vote for this elitest half wit ?

Have been hit by the airport chaos. Not long after we booked flights from Bristol to Newcastle for a 60th birthday bash in October Ryanair have informed us it has been cancelled. Some, including me, have been put on a later cheaper flight without a refund. It will mean missing out on the Thursday evening. :angry-screaming: Johnson, Rees Mong, Farage and co should be strung up hanged drawn and quartered.

Don't forget to mask up, and take precautions. Covid is rife again, and airports are good spreader sites.

Very sensible advice. However, we do need to be aware that a face covering is not intended to protect the wearer but those around them.

Best protection is by getting vaccinated methinks!

Very true. Even though I tested negative I think I had it a couple of months ago as Omicron is apparently not so easy to detect.
Either that or it was the worst case of flu I can remember. Felt very rough for a couple of days and it cleared up after a week. it came on shortly after my first concert for two and a half years. Without the double jab and booster I'm sure I would not have got off so lightly.

As a NVA fan from Europe, I had to stop thinking of an upgrade of my NVA System. I don’t want to pay taxes twice! I think NVA should apply for the same procedure other UK brands do. In short, brands like Christopher Ward (watches) or others are able to give a price that includes all duty paid. The price did not increase after Brexit. I think they do not need to pay Vat in Uk for export goods so they just pay for the european Vat ( the rest of import fees are very low).
I hope Nva can do it as well…It’s time for an upgrade!

Hi, Marco,

You will not pay the same tax twice. NVA is not yet VAT registered, so there is no VAT in our current prices. The difference, since Brexit, is that you have to pay VAT in your own country. This means, for example, that our UK customers can buy a Starter Bundle for £995, but our EU customers will pay £995 plus VAT (at the applicable rate in the destination country).

However, NVA is probably weeks rather than months away from VAT registration. That will add VAT to our UK prices, but that VAT will be removed from sales to the EU (and all other overseas destinations). Then, as in the example above, you will pay VAT at the applicable rate in your own country, prior to delivery.

We looked at Duty Pre-Paid, as offered by some couriers. It is prohibitively costly and time consuming to set up, for a very small business, such as NVA and, in any case, our plan has always been to open an EU workshop (Tomasz is resident in Poland). The Polish workshop already offers upgrades to existing equipment (e.g. adding a second power supply to the S150 or M300s), repairs and direct sale of all NVA cables. The workshop will be expanded - Tomasz has just moved to a much larger property - and you'll then also be able to buy new NVA amplifiers without any need for customs intervention.

Hope this helps. Warm regards,

Paul
