“Not everyone that voted to leave Europe wanted to see Britain immediately descend into an unaccountable single-party state... I only wanted bendy bananas & now there's this chaotic inferno of hate!"

Sir, you evidently have no interest in restoring this country to greatness. Why should a once proud nation take orders from European nations whom we either defeated or liberated in the war? Since Brexit we have concluded several trade deals with far flung nations, including cheap mutton from Australia, which should keep our farmers on their toes. In the excellent book Brittania Unchained by Liz Truss, Dominic Raab and Kwasi Kwarteng, they explain that British workers are lazy, and we will never compete with the far east till something is done about that. The coming cost of living crisis will focus a few minds. We need something bracing to wake us out of our complacent welfare state slumbers. Perhaps even a war, to teach the young a lesson.

Did you mean to send this to the Daily Telegraph? Reminds me of the comic genius Chris Morris.

Don't forget that Margaret Thatcher was one of the architects of the EU and Britain joined to avert an economic catastrophe, which might now happen.

Can we assume that the Netherlands flag you're flying in your sig is ironic when you repeatedly reference "we," and "our," when referring to the UK then?

... and on that note - I have been waiting for a package from the UK (a single NVA A40 monoblock that a friend has kindly donated to me) for MORE THAN A MONTH.

It has sat in a warehouse at Heathrow, got mislaid in Belgium and is now residing in a Customs depot in The Netherlands.

When will the stupid HM Gov. come to its senses and at least rejoin the European Customs Union?

Just to remove any possible historical misinformation:

The Netherlands was liberated by mainly American, Canadian and Polish forces at the end of WWII.

Next you'll be saying it wasn't really the UK and the US who defeated the Third Reich but the Red Army.
