I can even recreate decent-sounding guitars via VST plugins, I just don't want to give up the guitar, which is my "real" instrument, if I can possibly avoid it.

The foot pedals should, hopefully, be noise-free. They're all true-bypass models.
What do you think of Ableton btw? I’m thinking of dipping my toe into home recording and I am researching what basic package would be best. I will be starting from scratch in this area

I've been using it for years. When I first got serious I got hold of the trial/SE versions of as many bits of studio software as I could, and Ableton just happened to be the one that stuck. Obviously, Pro Tools is the most talked-about DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) but there are quite a few options out there and none of them is particularly cheap so do try before you buy.

Studio software can have a Hell of a big learning curve associated with it too, so be prepared to give it some time and cuss a lot. ;)

I've just bought one of these while it's on sale. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/TC-Electronic-AEON-Infinite-Guitar-Sustainer/2G6K
£31.99 with postage. As I've just bought eleven of their pedals I thought I'd try their take on the eBow.

I'll let you know. I couldn't resist it at that price though. I've seen a couple of reviews, one says it's a worthy competitor for the eBow, the other says it's rubbish.

Here's the official blurb.

Not the best pic in the world, it was just a quick snapshot using a tablet. I've got all of the pedals hooked up and velcroed to the steel pedalboard frame. The next job will be to integrate a couple of multi-way 9v power bricks and make all the pretty little lights come on.

I'm loving those bright orange patch cords I had made. 8-)

I've just solved that "problem".

I've ordered a hand-made "Cocked WAH" pedal. which (hopefully) does something like this, but for a lot less than £200+
