Being only an occasional visitor nowadays I am just catching up -- sorry to hear you caught the lurgy Stu, it's never nice but it's pleasing to know your over the worst of it. The daily figures for new infections are shocking and I am thankful that it's not having the impact of the delta version because it would be catastrophic.
Enough doom & gloom, I am feeling optimistic about next year and I hope it's a really good one for members HFS. Onward and upwards.

Re: HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Thanks Paul. It's OK, I was going to catch it eventually as the vast majority of us are. I was just unlucky enough to catch it a couple of days before Chrimbomas and feel shite and not enjoy my Xmas food. At least J was on holiday anyway. Not been able to visit my mum has been hard but one of my sisters is doing the honours.NSNO2021 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 3:28 pm Being only an occasional visitor nowadays I am just catching up -- sorry to hear you caught the lurgy Stu, it's never nice but it's pleasing to know your over the worst of it. All the best for the new year and I hope the speakers are still thrilling you. Onwards and upwards indeed. Since HS2 got killed off past here my mood has certainly risen like a phoenix so nothing can stop me now

Still testing positive even though I feel fine now. Supposed to be going to my sisters tomorrow but that might not be happening for me now. My isolation doesn't end until Sunday. Oh well.

I'm going to get pissed with my brother tonight.
Oh.
Wait.
I'm an only child.
An early night it is then.

Re: HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Last day of holidays for me. Looking after kids before they go back to school tomorrow. I must say it has been one of the worst festive periods I can remember. Only surpassed by the one in my early 20's when I spent three weeks in bed with glandular fever eating only soup.
Sunday was my first day of freedom which entailed a visit to Nostell priory near Pontefract. Just being outdoors in such a lovely setting lifted my mood considerably. I saw my mother for the first time in two weeks - I had been deliberately avoiding her due to omicron before I caught it and it has paid off in that sense. I will have to make up for the time lost. She gave me a big smile which was heart warming.
The new year brings fresh shit to deal with but also a sense of hope as the first snowdrops show their heads and the days start to get longer. Maybe time for some speaker related fun as well.
