Taste and smell are on their way out. Not completely gone - it's like a weird after taste thing going on. I never have afternoon naps but today might be different.

Covid sucks big time.

Merry Christmas to all.

Thursday was the wrong day to get my booster. Wiped me out yesterday, but much better this morning... which is a good job as I'm cooking dinner!

It all happens tomorrow for me. My elder lad goes for his booster in the morning (the rest of us are done). I go to collect my eldest who was suffering from something that isn't COVID and she was feeling very sorry for herself as her man had gone off to Scotland to see his folks - presumably preparing for Hogmany?

Thankfully everyone else seems to be fine. Thank God.

Covid diary. Day four.

The snot has disappeared which is welcome but now I've got the runs. All I want to eat is shreddies or crunchy nut cornflakes.

Yesterday was the 4th Christmas spent since my wife passed away, and the first one I've spent (in my entire life) completely alone. I did get to talk to the kids/grandkids on the phone though, and as a special bonus, I got to wear my pyjamas all day, and not give a toss.

I'm glad I don't drink these days, or I'd probably have been tempted to get very fucked up. When Jeanette passed I promised myself I wouldn't dive into a bottle, because with my drinking past it would have been all too easy, and incredibly self-destructive. She'd have hated that.

Yesterday more or less proved the wisdom of that decision. I didn't touch a drop of booze and wasn't even tempted to, despite having shed-loads of spirits about the place. And the day was all the better for it.

Happy Boxing Day, peeps.

Covid Christmas day 5.

My stomach seems to have settled although food still doesn't interest me much. The biggest issue today is feeling depressed.
