I think you've done a wonderful job on the 'old girl' Stu, and hope she lasts you many more years.

Can't you ever take it easy?

Thanks Dave. Plenty of time to take it easy when I'm incapable (or dead).

Is reading a book being idle ?

The 4trak is not quite finished but near enough to start thinking of a new project.

I'm thinking it might be a 1988 Grasshopper zero turn mower with 3 cylinder kubota diesel engine

A bit like this but 37 years old and a bit knackered

Some more Daihatsu Fourtrak loveliness.

Rear wheel arch protectors are all finished (except painting). Mud flaps fitted to front and back of the rear wheels.

I had key hole knee surgery yesterday after 15 months of suffering. Torn meniscus and ligament has been a real pain but I've battled through. I didn't go to the NHS until October so I've waited 5 months for this operation.

I arrived at hospital at 7.30 am to be told I was first on the surgeon's list. Thought I'd be home by early afternoon, how wrong I was. They had elected for a spinal anaesthetic injection as it gives the best pain relief and doesn't knock you out. I opted for sedation as well. That was a strong sedative as I don't remember a bloody thing about the operation

The spinal anaesthetic took ages to wear off. I couldn't walk until 4pm. I couldn't stop the farts coming in the recovery ward as I couldn't feel my groin area at all. That got a few smiles. I couldn't pee sk my bladder got so full it was really painful. A pipe down my japs eye sorted that out and the relief was on another level. I still didn't get feeling back in my groin until 6pm and didn't pass urine until about 7pm. I must have been tensing my stomach muscles due to a bladder that was fit to burst . I had a pain just below my ribs and asked for pain relief. After describing the pain, the doctor got worried about my heart so I had an ECG and blood tests. The results were good but by this time it was after 8pm. Wife took me home and I got back just in time to watch the 2nd half of the Leeds match with my son.

Feeling much better today and I can walk about without too much pain. Having a couple of weeks off work but trying to stay active.

Glad you're recovering well, mate. I bet you'll find a difference in just your everyday life, not to mention your drumming I'd imagine.

Sadly I don't think I can blame the drumming on my knee

I was thinking it might be less painful for you, not the audience.

It's your Bass Drum knee, yes?
