Yes, done a lot of work on it. Only one more little piece to cut and tack in. I have some of it fully welded up.but quite a lot to do yet.

It needs both rear suspension spring hangers replacing and a chassis crossmember. Going to need a bigger welder for those bits so I might have to borrow my mates stick welder. I have the parts here ready to go in.

It's been a lot of effort this job (and there will be more little bits to do as the years go by).but these Fourtraks must be one of the simplest and most reliable vehicles ever made. I hope it repays me with 26 more years of trouble free use

Purple loosestrife (wild) found in my wildlife area yesterday. I have never seen it growing in there before. That made my day. It's little things like that which make me feel good. The whole world needs turning into one giant conservation area.

More welding done on the rust bucket also known as my Daihatsu fourtrak.

Inside is finished with the welder. Drivers side from the front. Whole new arch and bits of adjacent floor.



Drivers side from the back. That hole has a panel which bolts on over the top to give easy access to fuel pipes etc.



Passenger side



Almost finished these exterior parts on the drivers side. Non of this is visible when the plastic arch extensions are put back on



Inside the wheel arch. Once I have put seam sealer along the joins there won't be any mud and water traps to bring about rapid accelerated rusting.



Moving on to the exterior on the passenger side next. Then underneath and that's when things get interesting. Molten metal in the ear anybody ? I had some get in last week. Luckily it didn't go very far in but I heard it sizzling my ear hair

I haven't tried it yet because I've not noticed it growing round my way.

Fishing with the boy. Would you believe it, purple loosestrife on the far bank just to his right.

I do forage when I'm out and about. Nothing exotic today though, just blackberries (but there are loads of them about here). Had some hops the other day. Not too much though as I don't want to develop boobs
