I'm eight months without alcohol and have no desires for any. It took a lot of courage to stop a 30 year habit and I am so glad I did. I find myself feeling much better both mentally and physically and much better equipped to deal with the shit that modern life is throwing at me . I still get moments where I have to slap myself around the face. Friday would have been my mum's 80th birthday and I sat in the churchyard crying for a little while. Winter and the crap weather is coming which will be a real test.
I have rediscovered my love of wildlife, wildflowers, conservation and the joy it brings. Work is no longer a problem, I am enjoying it again. To be honest I haven't listened to a great deal of music at home maybe an hour every Friday and Saturday night. I have though played more gigs with the two bands than I have for quite a while. I have no urge to get back in to diy hifi or obsessing about what I am playing music with be it replay or the drums I play. No more purchases or building, what I have is more than adequate.

Re: Stu
Surprise 40th Birthday Party last night in Cas Vegas (Castleford). My drum kit has added lights these days . It's like the Parliament mothership touching down

This working men's club had a few characters (don't they always) including this one who I have never met before, honestly. We are now available to open Buffets

Lights in your drumkit? You big tart.
To think, I once got a slagging for wearing silver boots on stage.
Nah, nice one, Stu. Anything that gets the punters taking notice is great.

Re: Stu
WOW. Those are fantastic suggestions Paul

I think each cannon will need its own linear power supply to give a more powerful and clean delivery

Re: Stu
This old Daihatsu Fourtrak (1998) is currently over the inspection pit in the shed until probably about the end of March. It's having a well earned restoration with a new chassis crossmember, rear spring hangers, full set of shock absorbers, rubber bump stops, trailing arms, poly bushes for upper and lower trailing arms, front and back anti roll bars, read panhard bar and complete new rear wheel arches.
It's mostly stripped down with parts strewn about my shed. I am also removing all rust from underneath and treating.
Looks like this at the moment . Got a new driver's seat
As the fuel tank is off I have had to rig up this 5 litre jerry can. Works a treat and I can move it if needed although with no shock absorbers and other stuff removed it bounces up and down like zebedee.
