Hi Guys  ,

Thought I ought to do the honourable thing and join as have been avidly reading the various threads for a while. I have been trying to figure out this HiFi lark since I worked with DSJR for 6 years at KJ in the 1970s. Can't say I am much the wiser but I am here to learn and at least here I see I shall get straight advice!

I am retired with kids at/about to be at Uni :violin: I have a pretty modest system with a 37 year old LP12/Valhalla/G707/DL-110 which I got from my best friend and that I rebuilt, serviced set up myself, Rega Brio R, Rega Apollo R and Stirling Broadcast MS-88s (Rogers 60th Anniversary LS3/5a clones) which are refined but boring. I/Cs are Linn Black [?] and speaker cables Talk 3 stuff (actually quite good). I hope I should be able to improve the sound, particularly its dynamics, and am considering an AP20 and some more efficient Royd/Rega speakers. :confusion-scratchheadyellow:

looking forward to learning a lot and posting with you all.

with best wishes

Chris

Not totally and forever ;) The LP12/Grace 707 were a very fine combination and I'm delighted that Chris has finally found a vinyl spinner he can live with and enjoy (he had modern Rega decks before.......) :D
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...
