Not at all, but then I don't see the current witch hunt on AOS as winning anything.
We all know that the latest thread, on AOS, was a stitch up from the start - possibly prompted when the the Doc recently posting about his business doing very well.

Re: Arkless / Cambs Audio 640p phono stage
The comparison has already been done by 2 members here. The feedback was that the Arkless was not in the same league as the NVA Phono 1.
I'd be interested in an analysis of the parts, costs, engineering / design principles of the modifications carried out by Arkless. Good value? Worthwhile changes? Decent engineering? Or otherwise...

Re: Arkless / Cambs Audio 640p phono stage
I have no 'history' that I know of on any of the other fora. However, my only vinyl capability is an inherited entry level ProJect job, AT110, plus my old Musical Fidelity V-LPS mk 1 unit. Once we get the house move sorted and I have my DIY semi-omnis built, I'd then be in some sort of position to offer an impartial review, albeit using an entry level spinner. But realistically we're looking at early next year before I could help.
However, an impartial comparative review against a non-NVA offering might well be useful e.g. can it beat a unit now obtainable on fleabay for little money.

Possible hum issues aside, I think the Schiit Mani is arguably the best of the cheapies - oh, and that Rega Fono USB A-D thingie is supposed to be ok as well according to a friend who's owned and used both, one after the other...

I've seen nothing here to change my mind Doc. Accept the unit, but have it sent directly to another independent member who has a phono 1 to compare it against. Once a comparison has been done, let that member pass it on to another and once its done the rounds, accept it yourself and do with it what you want. Inserting it up an offending orifice is not an option

Re: Arkless / Cambs Audio 640p phono stage
I did. Will be against Phono 2 and a similar priced MF phono stage to the modified Arkless. I think comparing to Phono 2 is a bit unfair in spite of Arkless's bold claims about how good it is. Also have an original Rega MC Fono to compare.
