I've got some of those fitted in one of my speaker projects.Classicrock wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2017 11:30 am Michell do nice chunky ones.

IMO they are no better sounding than 4mm test sockets, for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Panel-Mounted ... SwXetZOVxK The only problem I have found lately is that it seems difficult to find longer lengths required to go through cabinet panels.
Main System. Amp - Luxman LV-120, CD - Pioneer PDX505 & Hitachi DA 401. Turntable - Trio KD-2055/Denon DL-110 & Ortofon VMS20E. Cassette Deck - JVC KD A55. Speakers - Arcam Alpha connected with NVA LS3.
Headphone System - Little Dot Mkiii headphone amp, various vintage CD players into NVA P50 with Sennheiser HD600 and Beyer DT 880

Re: Binding posts needed
Hey, thanks for the suggestions.
Having a nice long shaft is good to go through thicker panels. Not essential in my case though.
The ones in the ebay link look a bit like the ones Naim used to fit to the back panels of their olive range power amps.
Having them insulated is a definite advantage as I can then mount them through aluminium plate.
I suppose the purveyors of expensive foo would have you believe that the expensive ones are worth the money. But are they really ???
