Because 'not compromising' is having negative consequences?
Not to me it isn't, I have no influence so my opinion is irrelevant. Lack of compromise on my personal brexit stance It isn't impacting my life in any way.
I haven't shared my opinion, because regardless of wether it is leave or remain, someone would jump down my throat and tell me I am wrong and why I am wrong at length.
It is utterly pointless to dicuss it.
The petition a few months ago that was signed by millions asking for a general election proved how irrelevant public opinion really is. The petition was not debated because the fixed parliament act says that the only way to call a general election is by either the end of the parliamentary term or by a vote of no confidence by Parliament. Not by the people of the country.
Our opinion does not matter one iota unless Parliament asks for it

An opinion a person is entitled to, just more emotive. Personally I would be more annoyed about being called wrong than scum.
.
Although, I should point out, scum is only ever found on water.

The whole situation shows up the weaknesses of a 2-party political system, an 'us or them' where the obtaining and holding of political power far outweighs the nation's interests.

Similar problems in the USA where the Republicans have to stand behind their President - however mad or stupid he might be.

In Holland the division of political power into relatively small parties means that all cabinets are a compromise between different factions and so ALL decisions have to be made for the common good rather than that of one opinionated political unit.

The only door out is through parliament. That is the law.

Parliament is in stalemate. Another election could produce much the same. What compromises would you want our elected representatives to make?

Then, how do you want the MPs to compromise?
I don’t know is the short answer. And there is no shame in not knowing.
I’m tired of the whole damn’ thing.
For three years I’ve had to listen to incessant polemic from both sides. Brexit is an open suppurating wound that refuses to heal, the disease feeding on its host until said host eventually loses all their will to live, gives up, rolls over and expires.
I’ve had enough, as has everyone I’ve spoken to.
Parliament has one side trying to stuff the genie back into the bottle, whilst the other is trying to wrest the stopper from their hands “by any means necessary”
For the population at large, “learned helplessness” is the term I think we’re looking for.

If I never hear that blasted acronym “Brexit” again, it’ll be too soon. I’ve expended far too much emotional energy on that damnable situation. No more.

That’s the problem isn’t it and that’s why the question should never have been asked of us in the first place.
That the question was even asked, is the biggest piece of idiocy ever to have been perpetrated in peace time.
