Boris Johnson - infected or being protected?
The PM has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Has he?
Or is he being protected from criticism over 'herd immunity', 10 years of running down the NHS and the lack of PPE for nurses, doctors, care assistants and other key workers?

I really do wonder how JC and Labour would have coped with this situation.
It's easy for Labour to say what they would have done, but in reality I can't believe they would done as well as Boris's lot.
But, we'll never know.

Matt Hancock has tested positive for C-19 now, while Priti Patel still tests negative for sympathy, empathy, and humanity.

Since boris started taking it seriously , he has done what was expected.
A labour government would have acted sooner because they weren't ideologically opposed to state management.
A more pertinent question would be what would have the Tories done with the financial crisis.

Re: Boris Johnson - infected or being protected?
I think JC and Labour would have introduced a universal income type scheme. It has been their stated policy to explore that and I think it would have been the most logical system and the easiest to implement.
Give everyone £300 a week and payment holidays for mortgages / rents.
The Tories wouldn't do it because they are ideologically opposed to a universal income. Instead we have a system that will take a couple of months to implement and people falling through the cracks of the various qualifying criteria.
We also failed to join in with the EU scheme to purchase ventilators. At first Boris claimed it was because we would 'explore our own options'...but we could have still done that in addition. Yesterday, the story changed to 'we didn't get the email'. The truth is that Boris put his love of Brexit before our love of breathing.

Well, you infer that JC and Labour would have done less well, so what standard are you using to judge?

The tories wont introduce a basic income , because youll make people on benefits better off , only to take it away.
they are ideologically oppossed to everything they are currently doing.

Agreed. Which is why they have to be pressured to do it...but are still making a bit of a mess of it.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 2:52 pm The tories wont introduce a basic income , because youll make people on benefits better off , only to take it away.
